Stop sign ahead, it happened again
breeze in the trees, tears in your eyes
it’s Cezanne’s Mt. Rainier,
balanced on his back, the time traveled to find
painted in solitude, the easel wedged between
the sand and the stone, it’s still time taken
colors awaken, it’s happened to you
the time to find, what he could find true
the path still taken, it’s happened to you
it’s the love, from a beautiful song
the imagined image
blinking eyes emerge
a bird parading, a light purple flare
happiness so near, the pain that swings
it’s warm pouches of clouds
silent strained, looking so slow, in water, in life
hanging below, the sweetness of falling
the shunted sunspot, lids slant shut
like a child walks home on a Sunday crawling
to find the unfindable tear
the time to find, what he could find true
the path still taken, it’s happened to you
it’s the love, from a beautiful song
laughing and loving
never forgetting the falling
the time to find, what he could find true
the path still taken, it’s happened to you
it’s the love, from a beautiful song
laughing and loving
never forgetting the falling
the song everyone plays
it happened again
the sweetness of grace

Heather! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I’m a musician, too, but it’s more jazz, and solo. I admire your ability to pull all these images from the single painting, and the painting is a beauty. The final line, “The sweetest of grace,” the stresses on “the sweetness OF GRACE,” was contagious. Really good stuff you have going here. Amy Barlow Liberatore

Falling down on that path to grace, falling down while searching for the unfindable tear: we should all be such children on such a quest. Bless you, dear Heather and Ronnie, for these exquisite lyrics which are skipping rope in my heart right now!
thanks, this came right out, Ronnie asked me a while back to write a love song and this is what I wrote-I fudged the Mt but I liked the way it did’nt fit. It is one of my favorites, it just never caught on. I asked ,well really nagged him to re-do it -It works best as an striped down one a. guitar in F.
